What support is available?
We have identified a number of ways in which you can access support throughout the programme.

  Programme Team.
  Workplace Mentor.
  Learner Mentor.
  Learning Network.

The Programme Team consists of your personal tutor, facilitators and assessors. Your personal tutor is your point of contact and is available to answer any questions that you may have concerning the programme. You may contact your tutor through email, letter or telephone. In some circumstances it will also be possible to arrange a face-to-face meeting. Facilitators will administer each workshop and assessors will mark your assignments and provide you with feedback.

Workplace Mentor
In allowing you to participate in this programme your employer will undoubtedly expect you to make a valuable contribution to the development of diversity within the organisation. Therefore, in line with this thinking we ask you to choose someone in your workplace to be your mentor. We do not intend to be prescriptive about who this should be, but suggest when choosing a mentor in the workplace you should consider the following when making your choice:

Is the person committed to diversity and its implementation within the organisation?
Do they possess the required level of authority to make important decisions about diversity policy and strategy within the organisation?
Can they support you throughout the programme?
Will they make time for you?

Learner Mentor
You may find it useful to share your experience with people who have already been on the programme, or someone external to your organisation with experience of equality or diversity issues. To aid this we will endeavour to place you with a learner mentor.

Learning Network Group
Many of the people on the programme will have similar concerns about diversity issues. We suggest that as a group you take responsibility for forming a learner network group. This will enable participants to share ideas, perspectives and resources and offer support to each other.
