Race claims made by former Ramsay worker

Race claims made by former Ramsay worker

A former kitchen porter at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Chelsea, West London, has accused staff of racially abusing him.

Hell's Kitchen star Mr Ramsay, 40, is not personally accused of discriminatory behaviour but staff working for Gordon Ramsay Holdings have been warned to watch what they say in the kitchen and stop any offensive banter.

According to Tama Siby, 26, he was subjected to racial discrimination, racial harassment, victimisation and religious discrimination during his time at the top restaurant and is now seeking more than £50,000 in damages for unfair dismissal.

Mr Siby, from East London, told the Sunday Mirror that he has been traumatised by his experience, after being taunted by staff and called "a black donkey".

The case will be heard by the London Central Employment Tribunal later this year, having been filed by Mr Siby in May.
