PepsiCo's diversity celebrated

PepsiCo has been heralded for its efforts in getting more women into top positions within the company.
The Financial Times has reported on the company's policy on diversity issues, which favours women and those from ethnic minority backgrounds.
And now, PepsiCo's chief executive, Indra Nooyi believes that other international firms are set to follow in her footsteps, predicting a boom in the number of women in top roles at big companies over the years ahead.
Ms Nooyi has suggested that the number of women in charge at large US companies could double in the next five years, as more women break through the glass ceiling.
This could help to push women to the forefront of businesses across the globe, with other firms likely to follow where the US treads.
Looking to the future, Ms Nooyi said: "I am meeting more and more fantastic women at what I call almost-CEO levels. There is a lot of hope."
At present Ms Nooyi is one of only 11 women in charge at Fortune 500 companies in the US, but she pointed out that such a position "is better than zero", adding that "progress has been made".
