Anti-discrimination initiative from Scottish

A new discrimination awareness portal has been created for energy company Scottish Power by a workplace learning specialist.
The latest collaboration between the international power giant and Brightwave is aimed at developing a positive approach to avoiding discrimination in any form and providing access to resources.
Linking to the company Intranet, the generic awareness portal features a high impact "trailer" that deals with key areas of potential discrimination, two e-learning modules, a managers' guide and tracks usage, ensuring that all employees undertake critical training.
Designed in response to the recently introduced Employment Equality (Age) Regulations, the portal covers discrimination on the basis of age, religion and belief, disability, race, gender and sexual orientation and has now been rolled out across Scottish Power.
Brightwave managing director, Charles Gould, said: "Diversity and regulatory compliance are an increasing concern in the workplace and the right solution can really challenge negatives as a result of diversity issues."
BrightWave and Scottish Power have previously won awards for initiatives designed to improve workplace relations.
